R F MILES RECREATION RESERVE

Public BBQ

The recent revitalization of this Seaford reserve has transformed it into a proper family destination. The standout feature is undoubtedly the impressive new playground - a sprawling adventure zone complete with towering slides, extensive climbing structures, and substantial swings that'll keep kids entertained for hours. The removal of the level crossing has opened up the entire area beautifully, though some practical considerations remain. Parents should note there's limited seating and precious little shade beyond the railway underpass, plus just one bubbler for the whole facility. The all-metal slide becomes a scorching hazard in summer sun - definitely one to avoid during peak heat. While the oval undergoes improvements and new clubrooms take shape, the reserve offers a pleasant 5-minute circuit walk. Just mind the occasional inconsiderate dog owner's mess. Overall, it's a solid choice for families, particularly outside the sweltering summer months when that metal slide becomes a genuine safety concern.
